Update June 4, 2020 — At the May 27 BOA hearing 4 of the 5 tree removal appeals were not upheld (we lost). Always good to keep up the pressure, though. Josh Klipp’s “544 578 2nd Street” appeal was continued to the June 3 hearing.

Of the 7 items on the 5/27/20 Board of Appeals agenda, 5 are appeals of tree removals. Two of those cases are being argued by Josh Klipp, and UC Hastings law student Katie Romero is arguing the 1001 Potrero removals (Item 8A on the agenda: Appeal no, 20-030).

Board of Appeals hearing, Weds May 27, 5pm Agenda
The case Lance Carnes is arguing (Item 6 on the agenda: Appeal no. 20-031) is a minor point, $2,128 in removal fees not paid by Saint Francis Homes Assn (SFHA). But it’s an important point, in that these fees are used for new tree planting, and DPW has virtually no money for that.
